Definitions
Loan Amount
The amount you intend to borrow as part of your
new mortgage
Points
The number of points you have decided to pay. Each
point is 1% of your total loan amount. These are often
referred to as origination or buy-down points.
Number of Payments
This is the number of payments that will be made over the
term of your new loan. To determine this number simply
multiply the number of years in your mortgage term by
12. This will give you the number of payments you will
make.
